I felt like I’ve been treading water this summer. It’s the time of year when the sun out-paces my ability to wake up and chase it so I take a break from the sunrise scene. Then as summer turns to fall, I get caught up in the start of fantasy football season for a bit and neglect the camera and the blog for a bit longer.

During that I picked up a few things. The first Fujifilm X-Trans sensor, in my opinion, rendered the most film-like digital images ever, so when I found out a friend of mine was getting rid of the classic X-Pro1 camera, I couldn’t stop myself from picking it up. I discovered it’s a very tough camera to use for landscapes. Aside from lacking many of the modern conveniences (such as a diopter, tilting/flipping high resolution screens, -x exposure value focusing capabilities and the like), I could not find a camera remote that could plug in to the camera’s archaic i/o interface, so I was limited to the 30-second shutter speed for long exposures. It’s been ages since I’ve done anything between 2 seconds and 90 seconds! I think I’ll primarily use the 2012 camera for casual shooting and resume taking the X-T4 for landscapes and more professional situations.

I also added the MagBox Pro 36 Strip to the arsenal of lighting tools in my bag, though it’s one of those things that are typically better in twos… I’ll be sure to write something about it when I have a chance to put it through some paces… Until next time, 👋🏼✌🏼👊🏼
